First time back at Little River in several months. Flow seemed extremely high at the start the goldline, very similar to going through the Lips at Ginnie.
Visibility wasn't great, 30' at most, and it got worse. Milky, more than anything.
Saw a few fish, nothing special. A few crayfish back at the well casing.
On the way in, near the end of the Florida Room, the visibility suddenly seemed reduced, slightly milkier, maybe down to 20'. On the way back, in about the same spot, I noticed that the water temperature seemed to change. I hadn't noticed a drop on the way in, but on the way out, my face and hands felt suddenly much warmer.
Am I crazy? I don't dive Little River often. Why would the water suddenly change visibility and temperature? I would understand a change when traveling vertically, as water of different temperatures stratifies, but I'd not experienced a change like that when traveling horizontally.
I had fun finding some side tunnels that weren't marked. It's almost like the catacombs, just deeper, smaller, and siltier. Lots of cool passage!
Back on the surface, the locals were all there partying. People selling snowcones for $2 in the parking lot, and people deep frying turkey's. Had no problems with anyone touching my gear as I slowly ferried it back to the car, so that was good. Lots of kids thought the scooter was the coolest thing ever, and some locals asked me about a bell that used to be in the basin, which I'd never heard of. Same family liked the improvements to the park, they hadn't been there in years.
