Excellent photos. How much light did you need to get those pics. I was wandering is a flash by itself would do that good, or if you needed a special setup.

You can get by with one, if it is on an arm. The built-in flash causes too much back scatter.

Thanks. This was 2 sea&sea YS-250s mounted on approx 12" arms at roughly 1/2 power.

One strobe works and can give some interesting results as its easier to move the strobe between shots.

Unfortunately my remote slave strobe did not work the entire trip

Nat is great young lady. She has been a friend for a few years and was a great guide when I was down there last Feb.

I've got a Sea Life DC600 with the Proset strobe kit.

I was just noticing some of the pics looked like they were taken from pretty far away and everything still looked lit up.

I hope my pics turn out as good. I am heading to Mexico in July.

Nick's using a wide angle lens that makes everything look further away than it is, but he also takes an amazing amount of light down in the cave with him.

I was just floored at how a lot of these pictures were done -- we'd just be diving along, and suddenly Nick would spin around and bring the camera up and "snap, snap, snap" and then he'd turn around and keep diving. Nothing was composed or posed or orchestrated, and he got that monster camera through some places I had trouble getting MYSELF. Mr. Ambrose is one talented photographer, and I was lucky to get to dive with him.

My late buddy and I have several cave shots that are very good and have been published in amateur venues. I still shoot film using a Nikonos V strictly by SB105 flash guide number due to the total darkness. With a Ikelite 200 slave and remote sensor mounted on the back of the diving subject we've gotten some great shots in Mexico and Florida. It is really very easy and you will have far better success than open water.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world; those who are good at math, and those who are not.

Thanks Lynne, still trying to find time to edit more pix.
Sad that the one of Lamont coming out of the King Pong is not in good focus
