My Garmin never heard of Luraville.

My Garmin didn't know Luraville was a "town," but it did know the Luraville Country Store was a Point of Interest in Live Oak (I think--maybe Mayo).

You can get GPS coordinates off of Walter's site, www.tampadiving.com . Not sure about addresses... most caves don't have addresses.

Offtopic but ... unfortunately most Florida caves have addresses, fences, and gates that seldom open

Walter if I remember correctly had Google kml file somewhere, you just need to use software to upload it to GPS. I used GPSBabel++.

My Garmin knows where Luraville is. It's the cheapest model they sell. It is handy in some ways, but it doesn't replace the DeLorme Florida Atlas & Gazetteer that I rely on, and it's certainly no substitute for local knowledge.

Both in Florida and in Vermont it has given us some interesting results. In Florida, it put us on a goat path with huge ruts that I was worried about getting through even with four wheel drive. It tries to send you by the shortest route - even if the "shortest" route is one mudhole after another, and the paved route is only a hundred yards longer.

I bought it just before leaving for Florida in early February, and immediately learned not to trust it. I turned it on when going down to the village to pick up the mail and it tried to send me over the mountain on a jeep road that's not plowed in winter and is used as a snowmobile trail.

If you have "points of interest" in your GPS (MY tomtom does) Look under florida state parks and it will be listed. That's How I found them all.

Alls y'all complaining about being lead on goat paths....how do you think I found "my" cave...not by using any type of electronic devise! More a case of having a 6 pack of Buds in a cooler and "two trackin", just driving around on goat trails looking for depressions in the ground, getting out and hoofing it and hoping like hell I didn't get bit by a rattler'.

I am pretty sure that TomTom has some deal with the gas companies because mine always seems to take me on crazy routes that seem to be a lot more distance than I would have ever thought of. Definitely in "cahoots" with the gas people.
