Default A Goal not easy to achieve.

    But I did it.
Those of you out there that have dove with Jeno Beno will know what I'm talking about. ( JENOS SAC RATE) She's got gills some where hidden away on her. I've dove at least 50 times but never came close to her. Well last saturday I matched her for the first time. It was to say the least a shock.
Now to see If I can repeat the feat this weekend.

Take her smokes away and she would be unbeatable by everyone! Cindy

    Smile She's an anaerobe!

I've come close to matching her in PSI used, except that she was in LP85's and I was in LP 95's!

A couple of comments (general, not thread or people specific).

    1. I think that smokers will have lower SAC rates than non-smokers. My hypothesis is that their bodies have become used to breathing less oxygen (say 19% instead of 21%) on a day to day basis - put them on a CCR and their O2 consumption will be 5% lower than the nonsmoker. Put them in open circuit and you'll see a similar result. Heavier smokers - lower SAC rate. There also may be a built up tolerance to CO or CO2 that allows smokers to skip breath without ill effects, I've not finished thinking about that one yet.

    2. The more you concentrate on the "numbers" of your SAC rate during a dive the worse it will be. Relax, dive, turn on thirds, enjoy yourself. If you need more gas, bring a stage, no big deal. You'll learn how to be streamlined while carrying a stage or two, and the numbers will get better as you relax more.

    3. Most important, have fun - that's what it's about!

Soooo, I can see it now, first you get a intro cave card, then apprentice, then full cave, then sidemount, then DPV, Normoxic trimix, full trimix, then advanced Lucky Strike. Seems OK to me.
