    Default Clearance Light Deal

Since no one was interested in buying this HID as a DIY project, I completed this light in order to try to sell it. So, here is a:

Brightstar 12w HID fully tested to 260' for 2 hours, no leaks. What you get:
    Canister, Light Head, Goodman Handle

what you'll need: Battery and Charger- easily obtained from batteryspace.com. You can use NiMH similar to the Dive Rite slim line or LiIon. The Brightstar ballast runs from 10V-16 volts. You'll also need 2 M4 screws to attach Goodman Handle.

Get on this one ASAP as it is the the one I have at the moment... I have the parts for a second one but once those are gone that is it for the 12W HID.

First $410 takes thid BRAND NEW light.... Will ship to US, add PayPal fees if you want to use Paypal.

Here is a possible pack and charger

I heard that you should keep your battery stored at half charge. Does this mean that the smart charger can use a different current to charge it half way?
Sorry ahead of time, I just don't know much about batteries but do plan on buying a can light sometime.

Nope, no special chargers. If your battery is rated for 4 hours, and you only do a 2 hour dive, all you have to do is store it. If you run it for 4 hours, it might be best to charge it for awhile before storing it.

This NOT for sealed lead acid batteries. They need to be stored fully charged.

NiMH should be deep cycled from time to time to keep its capacity. Otherwise the "memory" effect will set in. I have NiMH pack that sat for a long time and I cycled it about 6 times and got 2 ah the first time, by the last time it came back up to 6ah.
LiIon does not develop memory and should just be stored charged. Then take out every few months and top off.

For safety, I don't like to leave batteries hooked up all the time!

I'll send the attachment clip along with it to sweeten the deal... Remember the closest HID out there is about $900.

    Battery storage 101:

NiCad, NiMah, and lead acid are best stored with a full charge. But they will drop a little from just sitting there. They should be cycled about once a mth to keep from developing a memory.

Lipos are best left at a 50% charged state. They also will drop a bit, but at a MUCH lower rate. Lipos can be left at around 50% for a long time. Then just charge them up MAYBE cycle them once and they should be fine.

Neither battery should be left on a charger for a long period of time unless you have a charger that can read the battery and make adjustments. A constant rate charger left on a Nicad, Nimah, or lead acid can fry them... Lipos can explode.

Trickle chargers can be used to keep NiCad, NiMah, and Lead Acid batteries topped off.... But I personally never trust them.

This all comes from my time in Radio Controlled airplanes.... RC has been using Lipo's for 8-9 years.

I have had to throw out quite a few NiMah and NiCad packs since I didn't cycle them and they all developed memory or just flat out died.

    Hey Hector,

    Nice light, as usual.

Question... on your HID heads, how do you replace bulbs?

As a pastor I am amazed that some of my best communions with God are when I am in the underworld!

The HID bulb I use is the Brightstar. Enclosed in the head are the bulb and the ballast. You just twist off the head's cap and pull out the ballast and bulb. Then replace either/or.

Also, these are manufacturer rated at 550 lumens.
