I just returned from NCF where I completed my cave training with Rich Courtney. For those of you who don't know Rich, he is a great instructor. He gives a lot of coaching and guidance. At the same time, he respects an individual's opinions. While there are clearly some absolutes (e.g., rule of thirds), he presents other topics as solid practices, etc. with pros and cons. I really appreciated both his knowledge and way of communicating it.
I don't know if this is a record or not, but it has been 15 years since I did my Cavern training. At that time, I wasn't sure if I would ever take up cave diving (given a young family, etc.), but I wanted some of the basics just as good diving practices. I started my cave training with Rich a couple of years ago. Let's just say that now I have the "bug" and I'm looking forward to frequent trips down to NCF.
