Default "Hole in the Wall" access question?

Is there a easy way to access Hole in the Wall through land rather than renting a boat?

    Thanks

    Jurgen

I think you can scooter over form the boat ramp. I was planning to try that next weekend. Can anyone confirm this?

No, there is not easy land access to Hole in the Wall.

The nearest "boat ramp" is across from Twin but about 3/4 mile from HITW. On the other hand Cave Adventurers is less than 1/4 mile from HITW. The problems with scootering the mill pond is boat traffic and the hydrilla and other grasses. Not many boats out this time of year, but the grass is thick. I suggest bringing a small boat, even a canoe, or renting from Edd. It is very easy. The guys that own the house directly across from HITW used to scooter over to it. They now use small boats as it is a pain because of the grass.

For other caves there is a boat ramp near Twin, as mentioned, there is another boat ramp near Gator.

$100 will get a boat for the whole day from Ed. Split it 4 ways and it is no more expensive than Ginnie.

    Edd's rental boats are $70-$80.

You can scooter to twin from the mud ramp. Hole is much farther downstream. BTW you can't launch a trailered boat from this ramp. The other ramp, across from gator, is a five minute boat ride (due to hydrilla) to Edds. Scootering to Hole will probably be more trouble than it is worth.

Hole in the Wall is a about an 8-9 minute boat ride from either ramp. Scootering there will take close to an hour. And right now the Mill Pond water temperature is in the 50s. Rent a boat or freeze your butt off...
