    Talking Peacock Springs 1/18

Managed to hookup with a dive buddy.

    Dive 1
Peacock 1 to Pothole, simulated an emergency and briefly surfaced. Went back down and continued another 600'. I was nearly at 1/3s with my single tank and turned the dive there.

    Dive 2
Peacock 1 towards Peanut Restriction. Off course I didn't make it on 1/3 of a single, but was only short about 400'. I hit 1/3s at the 1300' mark.

There was a cotton mouth hanging out by the ladder adding a little excitement to the dive. You literally had to pass within 5' of him to get out of the water. He didn't seem to interested in divers. He was there at the end of both dives.

This was my 1st time diving Peacock so I can't comment on the flow, other than the fact I never notice any. A welcome change from Ginnie. The water temp was 71, but it probably always is. The viz varied from 20-50 depending on where you were. There we a lot of people in Peacock 1 today which probably explains the lower viz in places.

Tom let me lead both dives which was good pratice for me. I was later told this is typically the best way for an experienced diver to quickly determine if a new diver has a clue or not. I will have to remember that when I gain some experience, and the role is reversed someday.

This was an awsome Intro dive at Peacock. Can't wait to do it again.

Thanx for diving with me Tom, assuming you read this.

Default Do Not Fear the Snake

The Snake would be a non-venomus Brown Water Snake, Cotton Mouths Do Not hang around in clear spring water.
