Anyone have a condition report for Morrison Springs?
Anyone have a condition report for Morrison Springs?
I haven't been there recently, but last I heard river levels are dropping but the basin is still really tannic and cold. Maybe another couple weeks or so if we don't get any more rain.

Thanks Rob
usually morrison has such a strong outflow that the cavern is crystal clear. Don't know how high the river level is at the moment, was there last year and the beach was flooded, trashcan was under water and vis was good in the cavern. basin was tannic but cleared up as soon as bubbles hit the surface. You need to know where the basin is to find it when water level is up.
I believe waterlevel was around the 8' last time i've been there.
Good luck

As long as local septic tank contents have not infiltrated the basin I don't mind diving there even if the top 20 ft is trashed viz wise.
for that it probably need to be in flood stage or at least action stage.
just fill your wing up all the way and you gonna shoot straight through the layer of bad water like a rocket!![]()
Got a bunch of rain in the panhandle last night...

8' water levels in the winter makes for much different conditions than 8' water levels in the summer.
Dived Morrison yesterday. 59deg F on surface, 56 deg F at 30ft. Visibility 2 feet at best from the surface to 30ft depth. Did not go beyond 30ft as i was loosing surface light and had no line run.
