I'm just sitting here scratching my head. Yes, his RG-1210 breathes very good for an unbalanced reg, but it doesn't hold a candle to any of my G-250s. I guess this just proves how subjective breathing comfort is. Heck, I've even met people that like the way Apeks regs breathe!

(Yes, I know that model was advertised as "mechanically balanced," but I don't consider a reg balanced unless it's pneumatically balanced.)

If you're at Madison Blue NFSA social on Feb 13th, you'll meet another one!

I love my Apeks TX40's & TX50's - breathe great, never a problem! I've never tried any of those newfangled ATX's or XTX's, though.

    A TX-50 is just a bad copy of a G-250.

At least it's not "New and Improved!"

Oh man, the mention of Dacor regs sure brings me back. My first ever reg was a Dacor Pacer that I bought used right out of my OW class. I dragged that stupid reg all over the place and probably put 200+ dives on it before I finally gave it away. It never breathed like a dream, but it always worked.

For what it's worth I kinda like my ATX 200s. These days I usually just rebreathe though.

Kelly, I'd happily give your G250s a new home where they'll receive plenty of love and attention (not to mention use)...

I know what you mean. And it seems, looking at the bank account, that all of my children are going to expensive colleges

I agree with Sludge, I had two G250's when I dove the Doria in 1995, it is an awesome reg. but the S600 breaths a little better, you can tune it down to a .4 and still be stable. The S600 has the fine tune adjustment on the knob side. The only thing Apexs has that I like is the Tec 3 first stages, its good for hose routing. 2nd stages not so much.

WOW! what a "love fest" for Scuba Pro?

FWIW, I used Scuba Pro G250 regs for 2-3 years and had nothing but problems. Never dependable.
Perhaps all my service techs were not competent?
The GUI site in High Springs was my primary......

To this day I will not buy another ScubaPro product.

I have never had a issue with any of my Scubapros, I also am a certified tec and do all the rebuilding myself. It’s a very simple reg to work on. What made your 2nd stages not very dependable is because the tech probably nicked the poppet while installing or bent the lever. Or even a nick in the knife edge orifice, all easy to diagnose.
