    Default Midwest CDF Social

So, is there any chance of us having the MW Social the weekend of July 4th this year? I'll be able to make it this year if we do. Otherwise, who knows?

Wasn't Slim last year's CDF Midwest Social Director? If so, he still is until he 'retires'... You MW guys pick a date (July 4th, is a Monday, or whenever), and we'll put it on the calendar.

    Default MWS

Great to hear from you AG. I have not set a date for the MWS but was thinking that the weekend of the 4th would be busy for families and was looking at later on in the month. I am up to some other ideas on dates if anyone wants to give any. No promise what the date will be for a few more weeks. Once I decide on a date, I will let the proper people know so it can be posted. I was just thinking about how I need to start looking at my calander and get a date figured out before it is too late.

Alan, i am heading up to the buffalo national river this weekend, are there any divable spots in that area that you know of? Bill

Isn't the 4th of July the first day of the NSS Convention?

Hey Wingman! Actually, the Buffalo River itself is usually diveable, but be advised that the water up here right now is COLD! And SLIM, as far as other weekends in July, I'll be wreck diving in Florida the weekend FOLLOWING the 4th, but otherwise I should be in the clear. I don't expect people to plan the social around my own schedule, but hopefully we can find a weekend where we can all hook up again. I had such a wonderful time up there cave diving with everybody and I made some lifelong friends. I can't think of many better ways to spend a weekend! Also Slim, I got some stuff of my own in Mason jars to bring this time!

Have 2 wreck-diving trips planned for July. (Steel caves!)

But all of August is wide open!

Not that you'd plan it around me, either--well, maybe if I asked nice--but August gets my vote.

I have a mason jar with a specimen in it.

Where is the midwest social usually held? I would be interested in trying to make it if it's not too far away.

Everyone spends the first nine months of life in water. The lucky ones make frequent return visits.

There is an NSS-CDS mini workshop in Missouri, August 13. maybe the CDF social could be held at the same time?

FW, you might have somehitng going on there. I will sit down and think real hard about having it during the NSS-CDS meeting in August. I might have to just have two of them and call each one a half, so that there would be a larger chance of getting more dives in. I don't see why we can't have two. One for diving and one for hanging out and just seeing everyone.
