Default Peacock renewal (from the JB thread)

Since you mention it we are headed down this week and need to renew our passes. Now that Janet is gone what is the best way of getting them renewed?

You can always do it online, but when you do it at the park the money stays there. On the weekends the best way to catch the ranger is when the park opens,or leave a note on your car. You can always run by the ranger station.

Thanks Kelly. I wasn't sure if we could still leave a note. The last time I was there I did that and he never showed up or left the form to fill out. I will try it again this trip.

I was there at Thanksgiving, and the Ranger lady was there almost all the time. The first day, I missed her until I got out of the water. But on about 3 more days, she checked up on me before I got my pass on the dash! Eagle eyes!

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

I was there a few weeks ago and my buddy needed to renew is pass. Janet had told me the same thing a few years ago about the money staying at the park. I asked the Ranger (Rick?) abbout this and he said that it is not true. Whether you renew on line or at the park the money all goes to the same place. The money does not stay at the park when you renew there.

I also asked at Camp Helen SP and St. Andrews SP. They both told me it doesn't matter where you pay, it all goes to the same place.

You can go by the ranger station. Just go past the main gate, to the first dirt road on the right. Then look for the PSSP mailbox on the right. The little ranger house is a couple hundred feet up the driveway.

I dunno how it is at JB, but at Peacock and Madison I wanted to buy a season pass and the ranger didn't have any.

I'll be getting one online before my next trip ...

Jackson Blue is county, Madison and Peacock are state. They really shouldn't be in the same thread. The state park rangers are *supposed* to have the passes, but I guess they run out sometimes.

I split out the state park posts from the JB thread to eliminate confusion.
