Peacock and LR flood levels?

What is odd is not having the caves flood every year. There was a drought for several years causing the caves to not flood. Good for cave divers, bad for everything else. This is normal, not the other way around.

South Georgia from last Saturday until today got approx 5-6 inches of rains. There are flood warnings everywhere. What does that mean for north Florida...its heading that way.

...Now I worry about these talks. Is this normal this time of year? Last year it sure was quite different in Nov. Does this mean something odd is going to be happening in Jan/Feb and places are going to be undivable?

Not really odd, just hasn't happened every year for some time. Spring in FL is always "iffy".

So the chances of taking an intro class at LR and peacock the 28th and 29th are pretty much slim to none?

Not necessarily, but keep an eye on the conditions reports, and the river levels. It the river keep going up, then most everything on the Suwanee will be flooded.

Dived LR Wednesday, last week and it was perfect. Windy and wet day, but the cave conditions were outstanding.

I dove P1 today with my instructor. The water is fairly clear and absolutely no flow. The level is not even touching the 1st base stair in the main staircase. It is up to the 1st 1-2 steps on the side stairs.

We dove LR and Peacock, actually just got back from Florida. LR as of Monday was clear and the flow was up from saturday and sunday. The river was intruding into the spring run but was still around 75' from the basin. The basin was still clear. Peacock was a little cloudy but clears towards the crossover tunnel. Orange grove was clear.

I had lunch in Parsippany, NJ today and you're in cave country diving. Just doesn't seem right.

That's OK... By this Sunday, I'll be back in NJ and you'll be in Cave country, so it evens out....

AFAIK, as of this evening, it's still only Madison Blue that is blown.... Everything else is still good. Today was the best day so far, but it won't last long. Temps reached record highs in the Mid-80's, but a cold front is moving in. Temps are expected to drop to the low 60's, and there is rain forecast for Fri. 12/18 and potentially Sat. 12/19.
