    does anyone know what the actual pound strength of #24 nylon braided twine?
    and if Dacron is actually better for use in caves.
    I always wondered about that.

    I use white but I think they sell it in different colors .

    Dacron floats. Most nylon line has 800# strength. It should say when you order it.

    24 is about 260lbs

    PMI is also the maker of the goldline in most of the US caves, atleast thats the case of the goldline thats been provided to the WCDC by the CDS and NACD.

    I just spool up extra line when I go to Florida. The caves down there are lousy with it. It's even self-regenerating apparently.
