I met Jeff Bridges in Dallas when he was either filming Texasville or just finishing filming it in mid to late 1990. I'm 6'1". He was about the same height. I know that there can be some differences between generations, but typically the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

Just to play devil's advocate...

Absent genetic testing the mother is the only person who could truly know there were not more potential trees to fall from...

Neoprene, especially older suits, shrink. A lot.

I've seen a suit that fit someone 6' and about 225lbs, that after a few years was tight on someone 5'8" and about 150lbs.

Resurrecting an old thread.

I've been watching some old westerns that I got on DVD, cheap. Whoa! That's Lloyd Bridges in Abilene Town. I remembered the big debate on his height. So I tried to compare him to the star of the show, Randolph Scott. I guessed he was about 4-5" shorter than Scott. Then I googled Scott's height which turns out to be 6'4". So that puts Lloyd right there at about 6'.

It's not just the actual wet suits that get smaller over time but the sizes as well. I started scuba diving in 1985 and wore a size medium Harvey's High Tide (high waist beaver tail wet suit).

I have no idea why companies decided to make "smaller" medium sized wet suits but I have noticed that I now I have to get an XL to get the same fit.
