Playing a slightly different character, Lloyd appears as Izzy Mandelbaum in a few episodes of Seinfeld:

    5'4"?

I'm 5'5" and I don't think I could play football and baseball at the University of California, as he did. 5"4" is short! How could he be Mickey Rooney's height and appear even average height in all his television and movie roles, much less even get these roles.

I suspect he was indeed 6' as his sons appear to be and as he is listed at all the web sites I found with references to his height.

And the music, how about that? da Da DAAAA!!!!

A few years ago, on a Connie LoRe cave trip my buddy and I brought several Sea Hunt DVD's in case the group wanted to watch at night after dinner. (I usually also brought a portable DVD player to hook up to the TV) Others brought DVDs as well.

Well, hands down every night Sea Hunt was the program of choice. Connie didn't join us for the chuckle fest. (OMG, we have to get to him, that's crush depth!!)

One morning, one of our group was having an issue with his gear prior to loading up for the morning dive. I will never forget the snickers when he told Connie (with the straightest face you could imagine) he would have to stay back that morning as his "diving lung" was having issues. Connie looked at him like he was from Mars and replied "your what???"

    Definite awesome memory!

Lloyd Bridges sorta looks like Bill "Bird" Oestreich doesn't he?

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

OK, maybe he was 5'5", but he got the roles by standing on stools, etc. in every shot he was with another man.

I have never seen a reference to Lloyd Bridge's height as anything less than 6'. Also I have seen him in movie shots where he did not appear to be shorter than actors taller than 5'9" or so with no camera angles etc to hide short stature.

On the other hand, most sites list Kevin Costner as being 6'1" tall but I have seen several of his costumes and stood near the man and I am pretty sure I am taller than he is at 5'9" tall. In looking at many of his movies he is paired with shorter actors / actresses and/or is IMHO carefully shot to hide the short stature and or platform shoes.

So (gasp) I am not sure what I can believe on the internet and Mike Nelson was probably a lot shorter than he appeared on TV.

In the Rocky movies, Stallone always stood on a box for close-ups with other actors.

So these actors are very much like cave divers on the CDF because we all seem to stand on our own soap boxes when we post

This is interesting. I have ALL the Sea Hunt episodes.

Lots and lots and lots of full shots of him with other people including ladies and groups. And haven't seen a stool yet.
