Ok, I think we got the point across and it has been accepted. And not to beat the dead horse, but another thought is that I'd prefer not to have to stop and read notes, then try to determine if it's a joke or not. If I see a note like that, I'm going to act. No different than if I cross paths with another team and they wave their lights at me in distress, I'm going to help. Nuff said. Dive safe.![]()

So Sludge, we've heard your thoughts on trash in the cave. Care to comment on Reddiver's grammar?![]()
The note is hole punched which on the surface might lead me to realize it was a joke, but then again, it is always possible divers keep a prewritten note with line attached and everything with them. The matches don't necessarily look like matches, look more like sticks. Especially when a diver is under any narcotic effects of their breathing gas, and the stress of being in a cave environment, and in a cave where a fatality occurred recently, I can see how this would be confusing.
However, I really think people get a bit too worked up over this, just like I think it was crazy how people were making threats several months back in the "touching the stage bottle" thread on TDS. We know that these kinds of jokes are unacceptable, so lets move on, and forget about it like we do with everything that doesn't really matter in the long run. In cave country sometimes it seems you can't do anything without being crucified for it somewhere by someone.
