    27 watt emitter, how does that stack up to 21 watt HID?

    I have no earthly idea!! lol! I just saw it at an electronics retailer and ordered it to try it out. It's a 6500k emitter rated at 27W. I would venture to guess that it may be similar. LEDs of that kind of power get less efficient than an equivalendt HID. My 24W Salvo is not as penetrating as a 21W HID. However, due to the durability and convenience I rather have LED.

    My canisters are all white

    One problem with high wattage LEDs is they are larger arrays, and don't focus to a tight beam. They put out a lot of light, but it doesn't penetrate as far as other types of lights, like HID.
