    Default Found: reel at Ginnie

Found a reel at Ginnie. PM me with a description (brand, size, colour of line, type of snap should be plenty to make it obvious it's yours ) and I'll get it back to you somehow.

Did it have red/yellow/orange line and over around the Hill 400 area? If so it's Hancock's! I would check with him because he made a point of telling me he left a reel in the Devil's system last night when he got done putting new line in the Hill 400.

    Cheers!!

Did he say left or dropped? I wouldn't touch a reel that looked left, this was dropped.

I'll see if I can get in touch with him somehow sometime to see if it's his and get it back to him my next trip up here.

That must have been him talking today at the stairs about "looking for the reel around hill400." (devil-horned hood?) Didn't sound like he left it or that it was serving any purpose.

Devil horned hood would be our very own Jack Gregory.... Although, I do know a gentleman from the NE that has the same hood, right Arch!

I can't imagine Jeff changing it seeing as how that'd make his own map inaccurate. He replaces it fairly often to keep it in good condition, lots of wear on that line from all the training that occurs in devils.

I have no contact information for Hancock, and Kevin hasn't replied to my PM. Anyone around who does know how to get in touch with him who can find out what the reel he lost looks like? I'll be back in cave country for halloween, or if he really wants it, I can mail it to him but I'd need an address. Thanks!

You have a PM with Jeff's phone number. I would not call before 10 AM.

Jeff was changing the line to something thicker.

Closer inspection revealed his name scratched into the handle, something I had missed before due to poor lighting and bad eyesight and not knowing where to look. Mostly, I guess I'm blind.

Got the reel returned, but only after hearing that the owner has been complaining about me for two weeks. Apparently, it is my fault that both East and Ginnie were closed when I got out of the water at 1am, and I'm a horrible person for not getting one of them opened for me to leave the reel there, or for not skipping classes and staying in High Springs for another day to return his reel. Hancock is nice enough but I really wasn't expecting to hear complaints from someone while I make efforts to return their property.
