Albeit brief without much detail, found this interesting reference on how Jill Heinerth is doing some testing for NASA in Wakulla. http://gizmodo.com/5374524/all-these...-except-europa
Who said there's no place for geeks in diving???

I am not sure what the poster is trying to say.
The reference should be that the technology that Bill Stone created has been pushing boundaries of the underwater world and now space.
NASA wants a probe for a project for a Jupiter moon landing called Europa.
The Seas are frozen so first you have to land and secure the lander on the surface.
Next they want a small compact head to melt through the miles of surface ice.
Before hitting the water they are going to seal the tube and the entry probe and then burn through into the water.
They want to deploy a remote sensing device to take reading and to see whats under the surface. Currently, DepthX now called ENDURANCE is being tested in the south pole at a frozen lake to check systems. Please refer to Bill Stones business for updates.
(Very exciting engineering work.)

Jill was one of the deep divers for the Wakulla II project were she dove the MK-5P rebreather and a modified dual rebreather. The digital mapper she had was a reflective surface recording device that was used to produce multiple images of the cave system. The system was marked by transmitters on the floor (or walls) to mark known points underwater since she was driving a scooter and flying through a cave system.

If it was years ago, my apologies. It just popped up on Gizmodo today....
It was intended to be an FYI, but if anyone has additional information, I am always intersted in learning...
That last picture, is that from years ago? It looks like a miflex hose, which I thought were a new thing on the market.
Does anyone know where I can find a better resolution of that first photo? That is an incredible picture and I want it as my wallpaper. tineye.com found nothing.

I bet they didn't get permission to do use them.... sounds like CDNN stuff... old pics/old info mixed in with newer stuff....

This is a repost/rewrite of a syndicated interview a British media company did about cave diving with Jill a few weeks back. It originally ran in several London newspapers. The pics are a combination of Wes' and Jill's images, and yes, they were used with permission. The article has been re written to various degrees from London to Beijing, and even was a segment on ABC News on Monday morning!
The images are a variety of pics that span about ten years! Jill is now diving, teaching and distributing the Sentinel, and the tannic water pic is her Sentinel self-portrait.
You can order hi res pics from Jill at: www.IntoThePlanet.com

Some of the facts were definitely lost in the rewrite, but the intent of Gizmondo is to share images of an amazing sport- Cave Diving.
Hope this helps add clarity.
Best,
Robert and Jill
