Thread: Leviathan

I have the Salvo 12W led, I am sure it must be the same as the Leviathan one.
I did not get a manual with mine but aside from plugging in the light before plugging in the charger to the wall I think it's all you that you could do to damage it with charging.
The light works great and has taken a serious fall from about 10ft and has never had a problem and the beam is much tighter than any other led.

    Russell,

I fully udnerstand why you hated Barry. But isn't it time to let bygones be bygones? Barry is out of the picture, and Corey and Joel are about as fond of him as you are.

Light monkey has LONG been Joel's nickname. There are two partners in the business. And you're looking a little too deeply at an amusing logo here.

...Unless by "nothing has changed" you're implying that Corey and Joel are acting criminally In which case, you're way the hell out of line.

So - could you clarify? What does "nothing has changed" mean?

The "see no evil" monkey is there. The "hear no evil" monkey is there. But the "speak no evil" monkey is conspicuous by his absence.

    ...As is the third partner.

This is pretty childish. And it still sounds dangerously like an accusation of criminal intent.

Are you accsuing Joel and Corey of having criminal intent?

I've never met Corey, Joel, or Barry, for that matter. I know nothing of their intentions. The courts are the ones accusing Corey and Joel of underhandedly starting a company with Salvo materials that were owed to Halcyon. Isn't that why Leviathan was shut down? I don't know ANYTHING about that, so I wouldn't speculate.

The most prominent aspect of the Halcyon/Salvo rivalry was the arguing back and forth among the customers of each. I see that every day, as I work for two rival shops. It's not so much the staff, but the customers who can't seem to stop speaking evil about the other.

Why can't everybody stop bad-mouthing everybody else?

Good question. Face the miror and ask it.

Seriously, you made a pretty serious insinuation there. Corey and Joel are some of the most stand up guys I know. Barry's malfeasance has been at huge cost to the two of them. And yes, things ended up in court again. The reasons are complex, and have far more to do with Barry's sale of a company that included property he probably shouldn't have sold. Corey and Joel in no way profited from that sale.

So, please don't bad-mouth a new enterprise run by good people that you now state you've never even met. These are good guys. They're on pretty good terms with Halcyon. In fact while I'm at it, I'll give Halcyon kudos for being very good about releasing personal gear caught up in this court case.

And if Halcyon can be sanguine about their relationship, doesn't that say something?

I gotta agree with Andrew here. Corey and Joel have never been anything but "stand up guys" as far as I've seen (and THAT is all I can judge anyone on). They go about helping out lots of folks quietly and without a lot of fanfare. They got scre.....er....took it on the chin, and are moving forward with Light Monkey steadily, albeit slowly. They don't post a bunch of crap, they just get out there and do what they do best. Kudos and best of wishes to them.

I noticed that too, did not think anything of it though.

I had one of the early 12W LEDs from Salvo--there was no manual as far as I remember.
