By now I'm reasonably sure that you have heard, but we lost a
diving colleague yesterday in an automobile accident.

Dee Burks, from Licking, Mo, was killed in an accident not far
from home. Dee was a dive shop owner for many years, and very
well known/respected in the cave diving community, and had trained
or dived with many of us over the years.

myself and a few others are at least aware of Dee by
reputation of training if not by first-hand experience, and I wanted too
ensure that they were aware of the tragedy. There are no
arrangements as of yet, but if you would like to know of them as
they become made known, I'll gladly pass the info.

I do know that Marvin Zaske was a friend of Dee.

Dee was room mates with Tom Mount and Steve Gerard for several years in florida back when IANTD was a dream and Dee Helped Make IANTD what it is now. Dee was a Great Instructor Trainer (IANTD 007) I beleave his number was and was a Great person to learn from he helped me in many ways.

I appreciate the dive community we share among this region, and
it's always a sad loss for us all when a diver of respect is lost.
