    Post Faber 95's Doubles $500.

I have a pair of Faber 95's that have been painted the same paint that is used on oil rigs in the North Sea (epoxy based paint but the prep is the most important). They were painted two years ago and they look great. Picture is available. I am planning on being at the Cave Divers Forum on the 4th. The last Hydro was 7/04. They look great.

I know this is somewhat off topic, but what kind of paint do they use on the oil rigs in the North Sea? I have made a couple attempts at painting faber tanks with mixed results. There are several threads out there, not sure if it's here or on the other forums on this, but it seems that everyone agrees that painting these tanks is not easy. If your tanks look good, I'd love to know what paint you used. Thanks!!!

When I worked in the gulf we used paint from Wasser. The stuff was as thick as syurp but it was tough as hell. Painted a drilling rig with it and when I left the rig for good seven years later there was still no rust, even after being towed to every block between Mobile Bay and Brownsville Tx.

I used epoxy based paint. But it is important how you prep the tank. The paint protects well enough but like any other paint it does not do well against scraping but better than others.

Send me your email and I will send you some pics of it.
