    Default Cave Conditions on Twitter

A while back someone asked if condition reports could somehow work on Twitter. After playing with Twitter for a while I think I understand how I can use Twitter.

I have integrated the cave condition reports on http://caves.TampaDiving.com with Twitter (and bit.ly for shortening the system page URLs). All you have to do is follow @CaveConditions (http://twitter.com/CaveConditions) on Twitter and you will get the latest cave conditions as they are posted on http://caves.TampaDiving.com (Twitter will also forward to your cell phone if you want).

Also, if you would like to subscribe to a specific site you can do that by clicking the RSS feed link on each system page.

Let me know if anyone finds this useful.

I started following your posts on Twitter and it seems to be working great! I wasn't sure about the whole Twitter thing at first but it is growing on me now, little by little.

A great idea if people join and update. Unfortunately, you are getting spammers already.

Yeah, but that is a real easy fix. Just click 'Block' and they are gone. Not a big deal at all.

Isn't it referred to as tweeting you? Ok - So we just got on Twitter (http://twitter.com/lp_llc) .... How often are you supposed to tweet and for what reasons? Isn't face book easier?

I've no idea Dave, and yes, IMHO Facebook is much easier! All I know is that I joined and I'm "following" Dave G, Walter P and some lp_llc people.......

I got an account just to have it. I think I posted three things in about as many months. It just hasn't caught on with me yet. I am sure it will at some point. I did join the cave conditions twitter page and that RSS feeds to my blackberry so I have something else to read while I am in meetings.

    Hmmm....If you need de-spamming , call your local , er , uh ... (geek-ette)...

    (wink)

Since ALL I DO is work on 'puters , I have yet to get into the Twitter craze. I guess I'm still old-fashioned and would rather surf'io to CDF and the conditions page.
HEY , I work on Mainframes. I'll let you "younger" peoples do the Twitter-ing.

However , knowing this group , someone's going to start Twitter-ing during a dive (EEK)!
    Instant Conditions reporting. (oh boy)
