Vortez, Morrison, Cypress, MMP, Baltzell 6/15/09

6/13/09
AM we dove Vortex vis 40+ ok dive but lots of clutter in the cavern, and people who should not be that deep in that cavern. We made two dives.

Afternoon we dove Morrison, lots of other divers were there, river was still over the spring with one clear hole leading in. 10' of tannic water then awesome vis 50+ Saw two of the biggest eels I have ever seen. We made two dives.

Evening we paddled to Cypress, awesome, 100+ vis, massive flow pumping, not as high as I have seen Manatee but still pumping. Made two dives.

We spent the day on MMP, thank you Edd for the boat and gear!

Checked out Twin but very silty and then got completely blown by a scooter team, very slow to clear.

Went to Hole in the wall, nice but vis was only 30' - 50'.

Next was Shng ra li, cool cave and vis was beter but still only about 50".

Then on to Jackson Blue, WOW! vis was 100'+ a few teams were present, some flow but not bad, easy enough to swim through. We made two dives.

Located Indian, but didn't get in the water, lighting then ran us off then pond.

After the storm we kayaked to Gator Hole, erie place maybe because of the name, barely had our 30' vis, meet our new friend for the first time Mr. Silt Monster, dropped vis to about 10' about 80' in, so we turned and burned.

We kayaked to Baltzell/Bozell, river was very tannic but the spring and run were clear, vis was only in the 50' range. About 2' of the pernament line is trapped under silt in the tunnel just prior to the big low room, we tried unsucessfully to clear it and in the process discovered a line end either from a previous repair or because the line is cut. We made two dives.

All in all, 14 dives in 2 1/2 days, we had a great trip. Thank you everyone for the beta on the different sites.
