    Default 2009 Cannonball

Just got back from Cannonball and was pleasantly surprised at the conditions.. Vis at the entrance was 15-20 with a good flow.. Very managable flow... Vis in the front of the cave was 25 to 30, in the back before the pit was down to 15.. in the pit down to 175 was around 20 foot vis.. Once you get through the entrance the flow is normal for this time of year... A flag was left in the and will remain there till Sunday... Pools Open...

Just returned from Cannonball and it was great. Visibility is 70 feet plus with 10-12 feet of visibility in the lake water. The lake water is cooler than usual with the cool nights we have been having here so no burning fingers as you ascend.

You are so right, Ed. the vis is awesome. Cal and I dove Cannonball on 8-30 and the vis in the cave must have been 40 ft. if it was a foot. Anyone diving after the workshop will have a real treat in store. Bring your cameras!Darren

Cannonball conditions this weekend were excellent! Flow was minimal--could kick or hand-walk in through the opening, and on exit just kicked occasionally to keep the momentum going. Vis was 50+ feet from the entrance all the way in and down to 190 ft.

Vis in the lake outside the cave was 15 ft. until you got shallower than 15 ft., and it was 1 ft. vis in the top 15 ft. Water temp in the cave was 57 F, as was the lake temp again until the top 15 ft. where it was slightly warmer.

Yep, Canonball was great. I also got to dive Roubidoux, after getting rained out for the past 4 years.
