From a tourist perspective, the concept of interfernece between divers and glass bottom boat tours does not hold water. Tourists would love to have the backdrop of divers submerged in the Wakulla basin to capture pictures of.
It seems that it is okay to encroach on the Wakulla Springs Basin by building an elementary school several miles away from the park, and burying new gasoline storage vessels even closer, but heaven forbid we let divers in the water.
Sweet, I didn't even realize that Clearcut was even in consideration for allowing divers in... I don't fall under the Emerald qualifications but would be more than willing to help build steps at that site, or improve the trail.
Rumor has it that the Wakulla Springs State Park is trying to aquire the land that Promise is on; if this happens we'll have a whole new battle to fight as they have tried before to stop us from diving Promise.
Everyone who is interested in these systems needs to be supporting the WCDC as it is one of the primary missions of this group to get these holes (including Wakulla & Sally Ward) opened to diving and we have some good things going on that we believe will facillitate this mission.
Does anyone know where I can find a list of the "board of advisors" for Emerald? We should contact them to find out the, in the words of Fleet Pride, Status of the projects.
Is Soviet way, is good.
Sorry- no offense, but if these systems are to be opened don't count on the Emerald panel to take any action in doing so. This will have to be another individual effort by those not afraid to ruffle a few feathers by going over the head of Wakulla Park officials to state legislators, DEP officials, the Governor's Office, etc.
I find it difficult to believe that any panel on which Jarrod sits will actively pursue the opening of these systems.
So Johnny, are you saying the fox has been appointed to guard the henhouse?
Whoever said money can't buy love never bought a puppy.
I have a spacecraft prepared for departure to include myself and 19 others on a year long voyage. Volunteers all. We will travel at nearly the speed of light for one year. When we return at the end of OUR one year journey the earth will have aged 100 years. It is my sincere desire, that at that time, we will be able to negotiate access to these sites with those who survived the holocaust that occured in 2039 and the plagues of 2041 and 2050. I have both cannibus sativa seed and poppy seed for growing in the onboard hydroponic solar greenhouse.
