    Default Little River 5/27

Dove Little River on Wednesday. The water is up covering the first 3 or 4 wooden steps, and is still pretty tannic, but LR is open. Arrived when another team was packing up (Craig- I believe Serota?) and they said the line was broken just past the tie off in a tree, and about 10 ft vis.

    We decided to dive anyways.

Viz was about 10-20'. The line was wrapped in a tree that had been sucked in, and was also wrapped around a rock. I cut the line, tied my gap, and found the other end maybe only 20' further in. Currently there is maybe 20' gold line from the entrance, 20' white, and then back to gold. My fix is temp, and would whoever is on the line committee for LR please make the necessary fixes? Thanks!

Anyways, the line is fine after that point. Good dive, hit just past the end of the Merry Go Round and turned. Saw two large (4-5') fish carcasses in the system at about 90'. I think they were sturgeon... it was kinda cool looking. Viz was a consistent 10-20'. If you do dive, stay close as a team, as catching a signal is a little difficult right now.

I may post a few pics from the cavern when I get a chance.

    Cheers!
    Andrew

Larry and I went back on Thursday and replaced the line from the beginning to the first T.

I took a look at Little River Sunday morning. River is up, no flow, looks like it is reversing...

    Default LR

How much water was over the wall? When we were there on Wed., there was about 10". There was no visible boil, but substantial flow coming out of the cave.

The river at Branford is up over a foot since the 27th.
