The 104's and the E-8 130's are sold, just to clarify. The AL 80's aren't LP or HP, they rated at 3000 psi. LP, HP and AL tanks all have different buoyancy characteristics and depending on your size and goals in diving, aka how much gas do I need, there's a huge difference between a set of LP 104's and a set of AL80's. I used these for students taking cavern class and all my students in the last couple of years have had their own doubles by class time. With that, and a build up of excess tanks, I've decided to sell some. I've got a guy headed to Marianna in the morning and that would have the bottles an hour north of PC. Let me know if that would help make the deal and we can work out the details.
Thanks,
Todd
like i said I am just getting started I know the difference between steel and al. I know the al will be more bouyant. I am just looking to get a starter set of tanks. right now I would not be doing alot of deep penetrations. mostly in mariana and jb. just looking for advice on weather i would be wasting my money on these tanks.
i know you are the one selling them but I appreciate the honesty
adam
AL 80's are a good "first" set of doubles as they are easier to swim, not so heavy, and while allowing you to carry enough gas to do some penetration on thirds they don't have enough to get you in "too" far. They can also be broken down and used as singles as need be for recreational trips plus they work great for salt water doubles diving in a wetsuit. There is no perfect tank combo I guess but IMHO a good first set of doubles would either be AL80's or a set of LP 95's, just my 2 cents on that one.
Thanks,
Todd
