As of my knowledge scooters are illegal to operate in Switzerland. Police can impound them if they feel like it. There are people using it in Switzerland but not legally. Don't ask me why, maybe they changed the law but a few years ago this was the case at least for lakes and rivers.

I see they are in / around Bern. We found a house (230m2) in a little town called Founeax about 8 mins away from Nyon / 15 mins from the airport in Geneva.

Hopefully Richard is not going to be like phillipe over at the other place (was going to do some CCR training with them when I got there http://www.zerogravitydiving.com/ --- seems I am arriving around the 1st and he's selling his shop and moving to S. Africa...
    Hope it's not me

Do you know where you are going to live? Filling tanks if you have your own can be a issue. If you want to get hooked up with a Tech and Cave diving shop, the only one in Switzerland that I can speak for is http://www.crazy-divers.ch/index.php. Richard is the owner and speaks good English. With him you pay a one time fee and you get fills and uses of all the equipment he has in the shop. He is the cheapest tri-mix fills in Europe. He supports the tech diving crowd. There is always someone hanging around the shop to go diving. If you have you mixing Cert. you can do all your own mixing and just put the key back in the hiding place and write down how much gas you took with you. He has 11 compressors so filling on or off site is never a issue. If you have any ?? just pm and I will be happy to Answer. What brings you to Switzerland?

    Default Welcome

    Hi Tommy b
Welcome to Switzerland. No Richard is a good guy he is not like most of the "other" dive shops because he has no dive shop, it is a place to fill your tanks and to get tanks and rent gearand meet other divers. If you want to dive the caves here in the Lake of Thun just get a hold of him or I can meet up with you and we can go. I am pretty flexible on my time. Do you have a cell # I can call you and we can talk a bit more. Pm me if you would like to get together and do some Caving.
We have Gavins at the shop/ school to use, but you need to be Low key with them. The law about using them is a little Grey. I have a ss that I use but I dont stand beside the road working on it before the dive. I take it out of the car and put it in the water. Dont ask me about the law I am not even sure there is one. I have been told by "other" dive shops that scooters are illegal.
It seems tech diving here is new to most of the shops and they will tell you they support your diving but it seems thay also make you jump though all the loops first. That is why allot of Swiss Tech divers deal with Richard he is fare and you are Basically on your own with your own gear.
Let me know if I can Help.
    Thanks Garry
