Just thought I'd dive you guys a heads up for those who are diving JB this weekend. I dove it last night and vis was about 50ft and the flow was the highest I have ever seen JB. I have only been diving there for three years so take that FWIW. I was with some friends that were intro certified, so on 1/6th's we made it to 600ft and 800ft.

I went to JB last night and dropped my first stage @ 500ft (I usually drop 700-800ft in Ginnie, for perspective). We continued until about p900 and the flow was just too much to want to swim against. The extra 400ft cost us almost 400psi in backgas. JB makes Little River and Ginnie look like leisurely dives. I was up there in September or October and the flow was NOTHING like this. It's honestly like horizontal rock climbing at the moment.

We're off to Hole and Twin today, hopefully those are better!

damn James, you guys need to work on that air consumption It only took us ~42 cuft to get to 100ft short of where you guys were. haha, you know I'm messing with you though.

I talked to some guys at Edd's right before our dive and asked them how the flow was. They responded, "oh it wasn't that bad." They then proceeded to tell me that they were diving scooters...lol.

Glad you got a taste of that though, at times it felt like we were barely making inches of headway. Have fun on the rest of the millpond.

When you drop off the second breakdown (p800'), hug the right wall. The flow is less than half there than near the line.

(I did the 1300' circuit on LP80s and was 200psi before hitting thirds at the turn. But I'm sure you don't want to hear that.)

Stuck in town this weekend. Relay For Dogs this morning (over 200 dogs at an event to raise money for the Cancer Society - Ginnie was in hog heaven), military ministry at church this evening (feeding pizza and banana splits to 160 soldiers in Basic Training), and church wind orchestra rehearsal tomorrow afternoon. But I'll be at JB next Saturday.

Remember, JB is a little deeper than Devil's so your gas consumption will be higher. Just like diving Devil's is all about reading the cave and knowing where to be, so it diving JB.

It was nice to meet you today at Edd's.

Thanks for the info as it will help us on our next dive at JB.

    Any similar suggestions on:
    1. gold line to chimney
    2. to the first breakdown
    3. between the first two breakdowns

    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson
