    Default Rumors etc

Rich, I've always known you to react in a positive way to feedback.

It does nobody any good to do anything but go to the source when there might be a problem, be it gas, equipment or any thing else.

As a community we need to avoid sharing rumors and gossip. The "I heard, that somebody heard, from somebody else..." does nothing but harm.

Thanks for taking quick action to insure we have a safe gas supply in cave country. I expected no less.

    Bill

And that's where you missed the boat... Go find the place in your precious forum where Barney accused CEE (or anyone else for that matter) of pumping tainted breathing gas.

It doesn't exist. So with those very words you imply that Barney has done something that he has not. If you were so concerned about people treating each other in a civil manner around here, you would be just as concerned about Barney's reputation as you would about CEE's. Clearly you are not. Thus my comment about selective application of the rules.

It should be pretty obvious that someone from Ohio has no clue as to what's going on in Florida. A lot of people feel the need to stand up for their particular shop because while there may not be a post online directly stating where the gas came from there are a whole lot of rumors and accusations flying around down here face to face. None of which I've heard from Mike or Joey but all of them stem from the posts they've made online.

Now that my dive shop of choice is currently not pumping gas I don't really have the desire to go to Ginnie until the shop reopens.

You are quite mistaken. And IF I didn't know what was going on, you've all convinced me where not to get my gas. Shakespeare had it right.

Well, different quote from Shakespeare, but that would be a good start!!

My last dive wasn't very good. It put me in the hospital for 5 days and it nearly killed my buddy Mark Meadows as he tried to figure out why. We now know why, but there were extenuating circumstances that played a part. For all this to make any sense I'll have to share some personal information about a neurological issue that I've been dealing with for the past 3 years... I guess too much information may be better than too little, in this case.

It's going to be a few days before this write up is finished. Bear with us.

If you think you have bad gas; be afraid. Be very afraid.

    HI Lamar,

Good to read you hear and I hope all is well.

Hopefully your insight will clarify and detail what so many have been asking Barney for.

I think Lamar's report will be a sobering one and hopefully get people's attention. As Lamar told me, he has been cave diving over 35 years and has not gotten bad gas before this. As it will become clearly obvious, one time is all it takes.
Also keep in mind, while the gas fill that led to Lamar's and Mark's issues originated a while ago, there was bad gas pumped very recently. Of course, people (and dive shops) can feel free to continue claiming these are all rumors and BS. Hopefully, we won't be seeing any ads for "dead or hospitalized diver rumor mill sales" at any dive shops.
