I actually met Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison (of the Heads) in Nassau airport

That is pretty cool. I have been a long time fan of theirs,even when they formed Tom Tom Club. (What you going to do when you get out of jail,I'm going to have some fun,what do you consider fun,fun,natural fun). I guess this is a good respite of the inevitable flooding.

Does anyone who lives in this area have ideas why this flood is so bad?
We were almost at record low water levels; and it rains 12-14" in Ga and we get this! When we had three hurricanes abt 5 years ago we only got a couple of feet of flooding. Now we're getting 9' in Branford !!

The locals I have talked to don't understand......

BTW: Branford will be under 2-3' of water by Thursday and this is predicted to be the second worse flood in Branford.

I am going down Friday to do a little more prep for my river house. If there are any other divers living on the river that could use my help, let me know.

The rains we had were very hard,and grouped very tightly together. Also,the water I have observed from the Flint River flooding is very dark,suggesting a lot of soil. I am wondering since we were so dry,with a 9" deficit for the year,if what we are seeing is very rapid runoff that isn't soaking in.

Is that the roof peak of the bath house or some other structure at Madison? I hate to say it, but I've never been any further into the park than the immediate main spring area.

Yea, those new "tenants" tend to move in when the river is up. I remember diving under them during a flood in the late '70s. The people on the surface told us that they hissed, when our bubbles hit them. At the time, popular belief was they couldn't dive deep enough to get a diver. Today, I am not so sure about that

I'm going to visit up there this weekend.

(doing a lot of praying for Luraville , fer sure).
If it reaches the bottom of the SR51 bridge , well ...
(I don't even want to think about it)

Probably could use some of dem Fargo sand-bag thingies right now , fer sure , you betcha dere.
