So is Dive Outpost or Cave Excursions flooded yet?

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Default All that water from GA

Remember all that water from Georgia hasn't
made its way to Florida yet. There's alot more
to come from the Alapaha River and Withlachoochee River
    to the Suwannee River.

The mosquitoes are here again, too.

    Default Flood

Does anyone who lives in this area have ideas why this flood is so bad?
We were almost at record low water levels; and it rains 12-14" in Ga and we get this! When we had three hurricanes abt 5 years ago we only got a couple of feet of flooding. Now we're getting 9' in Branford !!

The locals I have talked to don't understand......

BTW: Branford will be under 2-3' of water by Thursday and this is predicted to be the second worse flood in Branford.

I am going down Friday to do a little more prep for my river house. If there are any other divers living on the river that could use my help, let me know.

I thought the Heads songs ...."Once In A Lifetime". and "Life During Wartime" ( the latter applied to DiePolders, in that day...diving 300 ft plus on air...."This ain't no party, this ain't no disco...this ain't no foolin' around"......classic!) ...were composed , somehow, subliminaly, about cave diving.... we used it as "encoragement background" when we dove Leon Sinks (Big & Little Dismal, Cheryl, Emerald, Promise, Go-Between, etc... as well as Sally Ward, Indian, JB (when it was a "jail dive"..), Vortex, Morrison, and some more, on a 10 day, 40 cylinders in the van cave diving expidition. No gas fills available ( of any use) for 100 miles either way in the area at the time. The shocks in the van never recovered!
Listen to "Cross Eyed and Painless" as well......("Lost my shape.....trying to act casual...") weird, but exceptional stuff!
I actually met Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison (of the Heads) in Nassau airport (was diving Lucayan Caverns, Mermaids Lair, Cemetary and Hawksbill Creek Bluehole, circa 1981, I think..), and asked them about the lyrics.... they had been recording in Nassau.....
Their reply was....."David does the lyrics".........
The water will always flow undergound...and the days will always go by!

Still crypic (but amazingly appropriate...to this day....).....

I am willing to come help anyone who needs assistance before or after the flood. Does anyone know of any kind of preparations that are being organized by the Red Cross or whomever?

In Columbus (southwest Georgia) we got more rain in a one-week period than I believe we've ever gotten. Our rain goes down the Chattahoochee, but southeast Georgia goes down the Suwannee.

Could reach 1973 levels, huh? Hmmm, the trailer I use in Branford has a high water mark about 18" above the floor, from the 1973 flood. I alerted the owners, and they are going over to put the furniture up out of range.
