Oh Lord , keep us safe , ALWAYS safe , and keep ME PRUDENT , ALWAYS PRUDENT !!!
When I was working at Dive Outpost, Cathy was telling me how bad the flood of 1991 was (for diving). In 1991 the Suwannee River crested at the Dowling Park station at 53-1/2 feet. I think she said water was about 100yds from her house/the shop.
Take a look at this chart from this afternoon. NOAA is predicting the river level at Dowling Park to be over 56ft on April 8th.

More rain predicted for this weekend...which is not figured into the above.
It's bad luck to be superstitious.
When the river guage at Luraville is around 27' the water starts flowing into
P3 and the guage is at 23.18 today.
good luck Janet
Just got bacl from 2 days at Peacock and it is fine, still has a ways to rise to get into PIII. Vis was great in Peanut to Olsen, P1 to Well, PIII to the second jump but the line is broke and the sitl is piled high. PIII to PII is clear.
That was yesterday, things happen very quickly when the river is coming up this fast. It's gonna go today, more than likely won't even get a full day of diving. Shoot, it may have gone under overnight.
Fall flood of 2004 didn't even make the top ten list and I have pictures I took of the water over the road between peacock and Dive Outpost.
I have another photo of a water mark on the 10MPH speed limit sign in the parking lot at Little river...on the sign, not the sign post.
I'll see if I can dig a couple up.

Tough call. It won't take much for Peacock to go under since the water level is so low. There a several tannic vents that communicate with the river water in the system,so it will darken before it hits a critical level. If everything around Peacock has gone under, then it may be short matter of time before it is gone.
