Help Needed for fire victims......
Hopefully we can help them out a bit.....
Many of you know Jeff Loflin, a long time, well respected and very active technical diving instructor in the Florida Panhandle. I am posting this for Jeff as he has no computer access at the moment, as he had to leave in a rush to get down to Tampa to help his daughter deal with a tragic accident.
On Sunday, March 22nd, a fire broke out in the upstairs apratment of Tiffeny Loflin, a singl mother, and a Master Sargent in the USMC, CentCom, MacDill AFB in Tampa. She and her daughter, 16 months old, as well as three others (one two year old, two adults) were also sleeping in the apt. when the fire broke out. They actually had to drop the infant and one of the adults from a second story balcony to escape the fire. Another woman, who had sounded the alarm fro the next door apartment, but refused to jump, died in the fire.
They lost everything they owned, and are now staying in a hotel room. Jeff has found them a small house to rent, but they need the usual necessities of life...clothes, furniture, bedding, towels, etc....
There is an account set up at the Navy Federal Credit Union, called the Loflin Fire Fund.....if anyone has clothing, furniture...or even cash...as Jeff said, $5.00 will help...please go online or do a Google search (he did not have the # when I spoke with him this morning) and give anything you can.
This would be a give-back, IMHO to one who is serving our country, as well as helping one of our own.
BTW...Credit Union ph. # is 888-842-6328
Address is 4530 S. Dale mabry Unit 1, Tampa, Florida, 33611
If one of you who participates in the Cavers Forum can forward this to that forum, or any other appropriate forum, Jeff, Tiffany, and I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Steve Straatsma
