I truly do understand that. I really do. But if you dont have time to serve and promote the activities of the organization you are on the Board for, then why run for the position? (by "you", I mean the board members, not you Skip.) Maybe they have legit reasons, and I am jumping the gun here. Who knows.

    Default yes, I agree

Yes, i do agree that BoD has a responsibility to attend conferences and perhaps it's time to shake them out of the florida-centric attitude...or maybe it's time to form a SouthCentral CDS grotto. The CDS is but one "grotto" among many in the NSS and just as a group proposed the CDS to the NSS at a conference way back when, we too could make a similar proposal at this meeting. Successful organizations typically grow too big to cover all their constituents and thus spawn clones....

anyone care to draft a proposal to form a new cave diving section? anyone care to be a member of the BoD?

I wonder if we go back and read the BOD platform statements if it mentions anything about helping outside of FL and such? This has been schedualed for a very long time and they could make some plans to help out.

I do like your idea Skip maybe a Midwest CDS and we work with our selfs and them to promote more up here and in maybe other parts of the US that exploration is being done.

    Default Missouri Workshop

I do know that Jeff's weekend is already planned to help a friend sell sandwiches at a bicycle race.. But he did promise to get donations from manufactures to auction for the cause... I have not recived any as of yet so Jeff, snap to! Get those items rolling in... Time is short..

As many of you know Manufactures are a funny lot. So if you are a dealer for for other manufactures that normally donate to the Workshop Please ask for donations to the Workshop

I didn't register. is it too late? If not, where would one fly into? I don't know the area - never been there. Is it ok for an apprentice to show up (that's me )?
Interested in the workshops if I'm permitted and there's space...
booking a flight is no big deal - I travel for work.

I would assume that St Louis is the best place to fly in to,but I do recall that Cape Girardeau had commerical commuter flights at one time.

thanks. I thought it would be STL which is great for me - nice cheap flights even now. I don't know where to go once I get there though and if there is still availability. I'll check the hotel. Thanks again.

always room for one more at the conference. It's in Poplar Bluff, south of STL. you will need a rental car to get there from STL. bring dive gear and dive cannonball on saturday or call Ed Peavey (or pm him) at the Ozark Dive Company for rental tanks, etc. (http://www.ozarkdive.com/). There are other divers coming in from STL too, so maybe one of them will see the posts here and offer a ride.

thanks Skip!! This sounds pretty darned good to me. I'll give Ed a call - I met him in Marianna so at least one familiar face will be there (and a few from his shop - great people but don't tell them I said that).
