Hey all.

New cave diver here.

Been busy upgrading equipment from OW to cave, and bought some Salvos from a CDF member on the Gear Exchange.

Great regs, but I need to get them serviced.

Problem is, I live way back in the woods of Billy-Be-Jesus North Georgia.

Any recommendations out there of shops/folks who do reputable regulator servicing that I could UPS the regs to?

Along those lines, what should I expect to pay?

Learn to do them yourself. Buy the Oxyhacker guide on regs, an IP gauge/cracking pressure tool. some picks, some O2 lube and a jewelry ultrasonic cleaner and you're ready to go. It'll cost you more than the cost of a service first time, but it'll pay you back many times over.

Regs need adjusting all the time. What continues to shock me is how hard the CAVES are on regs. I used to think that it was the sea the beat my regs up - but they fail often on cave trips, because that limestone gets into everything. When they do, it's nice to knowhow to fix them right there at the water's edge so you don't lose 1 or more days' diving.

But if you HAVE to use someone, ping Russell (sludge) on this board.

Call Jack Schmidt at Divers Supply in Marietta, he will take care of you. He is honest, fairly priced and does excellent work. He also happens to be a cave diver.

Learn to service them yourself. You will be more careful when you service them because they are YOURS whereas the kid in the dive shop you take them to.....well you can guess the rest.

The only person I trust to work on my regulators is me.

This guy: {Slüdge}Russell is one of our bosses on here & does high end repairs & overhauls of most regulators on the market. He is the best-!

I would definitely not trust myself to service my own regs.
I only have to make a mistake one time.

Granted, if any of us trust our gear to just any dive shop, we may regret it.

But there are plenty of people who will do an excellent job for you.
They will have the knowledge, the tools and experience.
Russell is one of those people. But there are many others.

I would say send them to me and I can work on them but SLudge is closer to you and it would save you money with shipping. He also knows his stuff about most all brands.

I would even trust sending mine to him to work on. Only thing I don't like is he has several regs I have been trying to get for years and he has like 4 or 5 of them. The SCP clear ones. I think he bought them as soon as they came out and the nstarted selling them and decided to keep the ones he has.

Here they are, SLIM. All are on Mark 20 Ultralight first stages except my oxygen reg, which is on a chrome Mark 20 for obvious reasons.

The oxygen reg has a solid green front cover, and my main stage reg has a "Hot Covers" front cover, in the blue "Surf" pattern.

The one at the bottom of the picture has never been wet, as evidenced by the Scubapro warning label still on the hose.
