When are you coming down? Don't be bringing none of that cold stuff with ya!!
I will be there Friday. I plan on dropping the cold stuff off somewhere in Nashville. Sunburn sounds awesome right about now.
a sunburn? awesome. even just the spot of sun through the window making a warm spot on the floor made me want to curl up and bask. i am not ready for winter.

I just heard LR is blown.
When did you heard that? And from who?
Did we have more rain lately... I was there on the 20 (see the post on tampa diving) and vis was excellent, bassin was crappy... 3' vis in the bassin. But the cave (if you manage to get there) is perfect. Light silt covering the wals and rocks on the floor, si vis go dow a bit with divers trafic.
I was planning to go back so if anyone now better, please post!

Saw a report on FB posted Monday by a local diver.
Looks like I am in for a week of Peacock, and maybe a day at Ginnie then. Oh well, better than nothing.
Gonna be busy at PS!!! Heaading down tomorrow.
I did Little River today, 12/24/08. The basin is flooded and totally black. We ran a line from the stairs to the gold line and I'm amazed we actually found the cave. There was almost zero viz in the basin. The good news is that the conditions in the cave are great. It appears that it hasn't been dived in a while because there was silt even on the gold line. I
love that cave.
was there any flow? I like this news a lot.
I have never been there before, so I don't have any reference point; so here it goes.
The water is still up above the walkway around the basin. The entrance area is a bit milky but not too bad. There were lots of swimmers topside that continued to stir up the place.
I would say that there was light flow - my buddy who had been there before estimated it to be about 1/3rd of normal. Vis in the cave looked pretty good but we did not go in very far.
Plan on a conditions report by Wed :D

I was there last Thursday 12/24. The cave was great but the basin was flooded and completely blown out. We ran a primary from the stairs to the gold line. I just talked to a friend that dove it on Saturday 12/26 and he said the basin had cleared up a little.
Conditions in the cave yesterday were probably as good as any time in 2008 that I've seen, including before the May flood. Vis was around 80' back to the Last Room. Flow was way down; I'd agree with 1/3 normal. The river water was up to the lowest step, but there is a boil and clear spring water at the entrance. Daylight is easily visible from the start of the permanent line.

I got in there new years eve, and even the water on the sidewalk was pretty clear. Very little flow, and vis was awesome.
Agreed. :D
The basin is clear again and the cavern was very nice.
The flow wasn't bad and once we got a ways back in the Florida room the vis was very good (at least 50-60 feet IMHO).
Still some poofie on the rocks , but that's to be expected. Both the Serpentine and the Merry-Go-Round had very little particulate in them. AND that was after diving around noon after a busy morning. :D
Thanks!
