Anyone been to O.G. in the past couple days? I need to take an OW diver for a close dive and thought I'd show her around the park. But don't want to do it in low vis.
Also, how's Madison? That might be our backup plan.

Orange Grove basin was clear this past Monday and Janet opened it up to OW divers.
O.G. of course has the duckweed (as usual) so if that's a detourant...
Raphael is correct. As far as I know, and they have changed the rules, there is no O/W diving allowed at Madison.
remember that duck weed counts as overhead & you must plan your gas accordingly...i mean, if you use the purge to get it away from you, you have to count that. ;)
I did a dive there with Local INtro instructor who Completed his OW students Spring dives before we our cave dive. Staff said as long as he was a cave Inst they were good.
Troy is a good place for OW diving.
What is a "close dive"?
OG isn't as clear today as it was Monday, I can see the divers on the bottom but I cannot
see the rocks on the bottom. There was 2" of rain in the last two days it is cloudy today.

those three might be cost prohibitive. I wonder how folks like Ginnie are doing in this sorry economy?
Exactly. Trying to show someone the "local community" gets lost when you drive 2-3 hours to do it. Madison is an hour from us and $10. Peacock is just a bit further and $10. JB is closest of all but costs a lot.
She's more interested in salt water, but we are trying to find something close, cheap, and easy.
It's free tomorrow!
