Inspiration CCR crossover Instructor?????

Whats up! I am finishing my OC full cave next week and I was wondering if any one knows a crossover Instructor to CCR????? I have at least 100 hours on the Inspiration and trimix time on it. But, I have just found a new love for the cave diving environment. I am a converted wreck diver and received alot of training from Dan Crowell, former owner of the SEEKER. But, a good friend of mine while doing a TV shoot in Truk Lagoon had talked me into trying cave diving. I now know what Becky Kagan and David Ulloa see in this beautiful new (to me) realm of diving. So, if anyone knows a good instructor for a crossover that would be great. Cheers and safe diving to all!!!

Martin Robson is probably your best bet, Tom Mount can, but is harder to schedule. I think Jeff Bozanic might, but he is in CA. Look at http://www.nsscds.org/index.html, under "Instructor Listing" for contact information. There are also several other RB instructors, but they may not be qualified on the Inspiration.

Martin is coming back to the US in sometime in November and again in December, you might get with him soon and try and schedule something if he is your choice. I don't do CCR but I know Martin very well (he always stays with us when in the states). He is an "Instructor Trainer" so his qualifications are up there. He dosen't hold back any punches and sometimes that rubs people the wrong way but you can rest easy knowing when you go through one of his classes you'll know your sh!#

Another, more local type, would be either Paul Heinterth or Jill Heinerth...but I don't know if they are qualified on the Inspiratrion...my gut thinks they are.

I believe Greg Stanton at Wakulla Dive Center can certify Cave CCR also.

Actually I made a mistake that I should correct, Martin is an Instructor trainer, trainer.

The question is who was his instructor trainer trainer trainer??? :P

You could also try Phill Short he is over from the UK mid October and again in Decemeber. I know he is an instructor trainer on the Insperation and he dives the Ouroborus himself for both instruction and for exploration. he has trianed more people on this unit than any other instructor.

I observed Jill Heinreath teaching a CCR class awhile back & I wouldn't hesitate in asking her-!

Just out of curiosity

Not trying to stir the pot...But if you are already cave certified, and you are tri-mix certified on your rebreather....do you really need another cave course to dive your rebreather in a cave???

Last I remember there is no "cave rebreather" course or cert. (This was discused not long ago somewhere - maybe deco stop.) They are being considered two different branches and one gets certified in each and then use them together.

WOW!!!...Hoy Cow....There is actually a course for overhead nitrox diving???? I guess I need to go back to diving air in the caves since I have not taken this speciality.

Cave gas is better than the OW crap, hence the special training needed. :-D

With a Full card you do pretty much anything you want in cave country. But you can't buy 32% in a OW shop and you can't jump off a cattle boat by yourself. :lol:

Should we all go back to this again? Sharky, if you are CCR certified and Cave certified, you really don't need to take a CCR Cave course if you half a brain. If you don't have half a brain, feel free to get raped by any agency/instructor of your choosing.

hey buddie, you touched on a touchy subject....I dont think Jill teaches the Inspiration I know Paul doesnt.

This was discussed on the CDF. IANTD has been offering a CCR Cave Course for a long time.

According to the IANTD website; Jill and Paul aren’t qualified to teach the Inspiration.

Thanks Bill. The site is still in the infancy stage, but will be changing throughout the next few weeks with more video and photographs. The Marianna DVD is coming along very well and it'll be a great presentation!

This DVD explores three popular caves in Merritt’s Mill pond located in Marianna Florida. This DVD won't just be following divers butts through the cave, or mounting a video camera atop a scooter. We show the cave from many angles and sequences. It’s informational about the surrounding area; learning the history and checking out these impressive systems! Different from Gainesville caves, these caves feature mostly white limestone, a plethora of fossils, cave salamanders, and plenty of tunnels to explore. We interview experts in the area, to see what they have to say about diving these sites.

The DVD will be out as soon as we finish editing and printing. We’re certainly looking forward to it!

Thank you for the kind words. Like I said earlier. We just started the website and finally found a professional who can do what we want done. It has started to take shape, but I'm expecting the video to be significantly better and a much better website all around within the next few weeks. Our editing is going well, and it looks like it's going to be a great DVD. Interviews, diving, and yes, even some outtakes (like me falling down the steps).

We are editing in HD, and are considering printing both BlueRay and regular widescreen DVD's. It depends on Blu-Ray interest and cost at this point. We may just do special order Blu-Rays. It's a shame not to see this footage in anything but HD!
