I received a Jeff Hancock map of Ginnie that has extra sidemount tunnels on it and is a little different than the other maps that I've seen. A google search didn't come up with much. What's the story behind it?

Cave country has a few of the Hancock maps in stock usually. What exactly do you want to know about it? It?s a map of Ginnie done by Jeff Hancock...

The map imo is worth the money because its so detailed. Not condoning any piracy, but there is a pdf of it going around if you know somebody. I bought the map and then later someone emailed me the pdf. I made a couple copies for my own personal use

I'm still new to cave diving and haven't heard of him or his maps. I wasn't sure if there was a story behind it or not
Whered that note come from. First I?ve ever heard of a warning for that area. But it makes sense. I did part of the circuit behind the bats and its silty as hell. Hard to make it through without affectinng vis if nobodys been in there in a while

This is truly a unique map as its very different then what is being sold at shops currently as the "Hancock Map". I'd be curious to see the rest.
Never seen this one before. From the looks of the photos, it could even not be print, but a hand-made copy.
That is Jeff’s first draft before Buddy Young digitized it. A piece of history. Enjoy. Joel

Thought I uploaded the overall picture too
WOW!!!
What is this process?
Looks like same way they used to create blueprints
That's a really cool piece of history. I actually ran into Jeff Hancock the other day at CCDS. He still seems to stop in there every once and a while since he still sells his map through CCDS.
He was a bit amused (maybe concerned..) at the copy of his map in my van. (I own a copy that I purchased from CCDS but made a smaller laminated copy for my van). He wanted to make sure I didn't pirate it.
That looks like a diazotype printing process
Yeah I've heard he's gotten very upset about the pdf copy going around. I get it, since it was a very long project and a lot of work. I've got a little tiny copy I used to keep in my wetnotes of the front part of ginnie to about the double domes that I could pull out while gearing up in the water for last minute dive plan confirmation when diving with people new to Ginnie.
Talked with Jeff about this. He going to enjoy having new bones on his bone necklace. :D
I get it. He spent a lot of time, effort and work on that map and created an amazing product. That's why I bought it. :-)
Unfortunately it's very easy to get a PDF copy if you know the right people.
I work for a software company that is very high on ethics WRT piracy. I came into posession of the PDF copy, liked it and started to use it. At the point I started to use it, I sought out a source for purchase and acquired one from CCDS.
My hat is off to you for doing the right thing RDDVET.
I bought one when it first came out. I also have pdf on my phone. Jeff put a lot of work into that map.

Is it available online anywhere?
Yes, I was looking to buy one. Last time I was down they were out.
This is his earlier map, but not the earliest one- there is one before that that was done in what looked to me like crayon for the black background. It might be what this was made from. Jeff gave me the version i have years ago. RLTW Jeff, if someone is reading you these messages.
Does anyone have Jeff Hancock's phone or email? If so, would you PM me?
thanks,
Barbara
