We are beginning the process of moving to a new server. This may mean that we have interruptions, Like the ones in the last couple of days. Please keep checking back to see it the new server is up and running. I am sure the header will look a little differen, but I don't know what TJ has in mind.
That would explain a lot. [emoji2]

Well, it will be different, sorry. New server, then upgrade software, then redo theme. Probably darker theme this time. Might even leave in the advertising banners, but so far, the only paid advertiser is me. Young Jerry (new server), and Tommy B (current server) are working with me on the project starting today.

is the new server in London?
We are still on the old server. That server has been having issues, which is why we are moving. The time is correct for me right now, but sometimes the old server has glitches with things like time.Quote:

Aren't ads the way TJ & company defray the cost of operating the site for us?
I'd rather be inconvenienced by ads than inconvenienced by the site going away.

Well, its slow going; me moving files and the old server dying. Expect some down time after 1a.m. tonight, and slow today while backups process.

I wonder if that would work on the server :smt102Quote:

The moderators are always the last to know anything. We have ads?
Transfer to the new server is eminent, so expect outages.
Unless I am mistaken, the adds are a result of using tapatalk. I only see them when I am mobile...Quote:

So, don't hold your breath for those awesome (Superbowl quality) Ads.
:smt102
I have several items that you should advertise here. I am sure that their ads would be good:
Everyone needs a bottle opener:

You may need this for your first aid kit

I know you need a shower soap dispenser.

Makes cleaning easier

I am sure there will be lots more people interested.
Well, if all goes well, I'm shutting down the Cave Diver's Forum at midnight, and we'll be back online within an hour. If it doesn't go well, my options are to wait until it does, or back to old server and try again tomorrow night.
Note, anyone uploading any file or picture, from now to midnight, my get lost (left on old server), however, posts and replies WILL get copied and transferred at midnight (if all goes well)
Thanks TJ!
If it's not up in the morning, we'll start making up conspiracy theories on why it's not live yet.
Me, I'm betting on Sheck's ghost being involved in shutting it down because he sees the current state of the cave diving world!
If you are still seeing the "under construction" in the top banner, clear your cache.
Works so far. Good job!!!
Up and running! Excellent performance and response times!
:clapper::joy
Well thanks to TommyB we got it all up and running. So we think. The gallery is just up.
Post here please if anything not working.
Thanks
A lot of images still aren't showing up.
Eg. http://www.cavediver.net/forum/showt...-Booster-Pumps
Well, ok, so a few more bugs to hunt down. But later. Heading out to dive now.
TESTING...
My name appears weird at the top, there's a Pound Sterling between "a" and "o", and the "a" is shwoing capital.
Just a feed back
A few minutes ago, while trying to log on to CDF, I got a message that my IP address had been banned by the administrator. I sent an e-mail to TJ and was immediately able to log on again. Thanks TJ!
