Hart's good, Alachua is clear (am on a mission to get the mapper), Cathedral system is clear, I'm a happy girl. Cindy :D
Dove Little River Monday morning Jan. 30. Water still covered the bottom wooden steps and landing. Basin was clearing (barely tannic over cavern), slight boil visible. Temporary line from steps to rebar was removed by an instructor (appropriately). Flow is close to being back to normal. Vis was approx 40 feet, kind of foggy, with small particulate. Went up mainline to Florida Room, conditions as described throughout.
Thanks Cindy and ceg.
Anyone dived Peacock? Madison Blue? Telford? Cow?
Hmmm...what, exactly, do you mean by "clear"?? It might be time for a trip to Cathedral if it's fairly good....Quote:

How do you go getting to do a dive in cathedral? I know the nss/cds member part, what other requirements? Is it guided? Thanks for the info...Bill
there are some pretty up-to-date conditions at http://caves.tampadiving.com
It's not guided, the rules are on the NSS-CDS web page. You need to go by Cathy's at Dive Outpost and sign a waiver just like you have to for Cow. Cindy :DQuote:

I would estimate vis. to be 60-70 ft. and flow to be normal. Tannic river water not intruding the run at all, however it was raining hard when we left and the forecast is for more rain. Basin water level at 11.15 according to gauge on the stairs.
Anyone been to JB, Hole in the wall or Twin cave lately?
Dove JB last night, vis is good (100ft+); current is slightly higher than last week, but still much lower than normal. Current is low when you do not have to swim a Mako forward at the first T ;) We were able to average 100 ft/min on slow Makos last night.Quote:

Makes for a great diving.

I was there this past weekend, and several people commented on the flow being down, but I didn't see it. Sure, it seemed a little lower at the entrance, but where I gauge the flow is going over the second breakdown. It still seemed like I might need to reach a hand out and give the old Tekna a boost.
FWIW, it took me 21 minutes to Stage Rock (2500'), and 26 minutes to 3000'.

We are going to dive Madison Blue tomorrow morning. I will let you know how the conditions are. I see the guage for the Withlacoochee up in Valdosta has taken a HUGE spike upward.
So time will tell...
