A recent locking of a thread with the comment about how many "felt" that it "might" become uncivil prompted this poll. What do you think? Overbearing? Just right? Not enough?
"Expected?", he replied flatly.
I really enjoy some of the other threads.
Not my call and I don't give a damn one way or the other.
I think the moderation is heavy but needed. Other forums have very little or no moderation and its all just a mud slinging contest. The way I see it, just act professional and only post things you would say in person. Makes the mods jobs easier.

Whether we like the moderation or not, this forum is owned by someone, and they accept responsibility (and probably liability) for what occurs here. They have the ability to decide how they want the forum run. If we don't like it,the software can purchased,as well as the domain and start one. I know people who have left this and other forums because they didn't like how it was run,and that I can accept. This isn't Baskin and Robins, and they don't have 32 flavors. All I can say is thank you to the ownership, since I don't see outside advertisement, I have to assume it comes out of pocket, and thank you to the moderators, because you will never make everyone happy.
Where is that dead horse icon thingy?
I think it is just right, the moderators and owner are awesome and I am not a bit biased or anything like that.
The owner is free to do as they please, their house, their rules. The mods have a mostly thankless job, I generally respect their decisions, even if I don't agree. Locking and deleting threads like the ones this thread is about just makes me want to know more about what is being suppressed and why so much effort is being made about something I had no interest in. I think it would have been better to have just let it die out than to stir everyone up and get them talking.

I have no problem. Lots of options if I did. Doesn't seem too heavy from my observation.
All the mods do a good job but one is a little squirrelly :)
This one?

or was it Barbara?
You guys have me in stitches right now.
Oh, and it was Barbara. BTW, will be at the workshop in May?
Mods are ruthless. I mean really, Forrest as a squirrell?? Pure evil I say!
Gotta be honest: I'd like some meaty threads with robust dialogue that make me think. I look at the main forum and it's not a lot if interesting content. I'd say others may agree since the most responded to thread is a six month old one about scooter batteries, and even that one only has 58.
This is not criticism. Myself, I'd not know where to begin. Simple observation.
Of course, there are some people who cannot behave when they are anonymous or 1000 miles away.

Not that I have anything interesting!
I had always wonder how this Forum paid for the operating expense. Now I know.

Is this thread still going? :smt102
I for one am enjoying this!
When everyone can get along poke fun at one another and still smile it is a good day!
I like the banter and feel it is kept in a appropriate manner.
Some may feel they are being cut short but have proven themselves to be a bit harsh in the past.
Where else can you come to be entertained and actually learn useful information.
I say the owners and mods are doing a great job.
Now Forrest as a squirrel , I thought maybe a bat or something more cavey!
I have not the skills or I would have done just that Forrest to attempt to help you feel better.
