Scenario: OW diver asks you where is the cave.
You are at your favorite dive site, and really it is only appropriate for only cave diving since there isn't really a basin for OW diver. An open water diver approaches wearing a BC with snorkel, and nothing to indicate the possibility of being cavern certified, and they ask you,"how do you find the cave". What will you do?
OW diver asks about cave.
It depends on the cave. I usually use a bit of self-deprecation. At Manatee or Kitty: "This is a pretty dicey little hole. I have two weeks of cave diving training, and I would't dream of going in there without a professional guide!" At Peacock or Ginnie: "It starts out really pretty, but it gets deceptive in a hurry. I've had two weeks of cave diving training, and I'd be embarrassed to admit how many times I've had to use all of it to save myself." There is a reason why every class ends with a LOAS drill!
