Steve, did you dive Telford yesterday? How was the viz?

Hi Xenia,
We just got out of Telford.
The river was terrible 1' at best with high current.
The cave is moderate flow back past Rolaids then drops to Peacock-ish flow. Viz was 20' at best all the way.

I bet is was better getting back :-) I am always worried that I will miss the ramp when the river is flowing strong, and I will end up in the Gulf :-D

I sure wish the NSSCDS could accuire rights to the property. Sure its a hunting club but I dont think the springhead and other openings are of any interest to forky toe seekers.

Both NSS-CDS, and NACD looked into getting rights to Telford. The hunt club is owned by a bunch of non diving lawyers :-)
Maybe a hunter/cavediver/lawyer might be able to work with them.

Im a hunter/caver but sadly not a lawyer but have seen multiple episodes of Perry Mason. Id like to see what the dues for the club are if anyone has that info and go from there.

Hmmm, we didn't try that angle. There are "dry" caves on hunt club property in other states where the cavers are allowed in if they join the club. They still can't go in if there is a hunt in progress, but it makes access easier the rest of the time.

Many coon hunters in TN are cavers, but not by choice. The racoons go into a cave and the dogs follow. The hunter must then go retrieve his high dollar dog. One guy told me "They are trained to track coons, not think."
