Well, I have the Poseidon Mk6 so I can just flick a switch, feed the fish, switch back and I'm good to go!
It is not an optimum thing to throw up into the DSV.
The chunks will cause the flapper valves to malfunction and you will end up with a CO2 hit.
Not to mention the fact that you will have to continue to breathe and rebreathe your own puke while on the loop.
You people are grossing me out...
Please keep in mind that there is a gage reflex with throwing up. The gasp after throwing up would be the problem. We used to teach going to the octo and puking through that. Then you could go back to the primary regulator. Please be sure to rinse out the octo or 2nd properly. Rinse and a good exhale should clean out the one way valve. As mentioned DSV would have multiple other issues.
I think you might want to ask yourself why you were about to throw up? The only time I had the feeling to do so was on a dive in Eagles Next. It did not happen but I removed the OC reg from my bailout bottle and held it in my hand for the entire return swim to the exit just in case. Later I determined that it was caused by some CO2 bypassing the scrubber and took some measures to prevent that from happening in the future. Not a feeling I want to experience at 280ft in a cave again in the future.

Yep, but thankfully I had just installed my Shrimp BOV. I flipped the switch and went to OC, puked, shook the puke out, purged, and went back on CC. Probably because it was the first time I had ate McDonald's in a few years, right before the dive.
yep....happened to me twice, luckily i was on deco and only had a few minutes left. Switched to bailout after =) Thats why I prefer caves lol
Well, I did laugh so hard that a expelled a few green peas through my nose when Leon told me how much he wanted for a new Meg. Does that count?
I can't even imagine puking using my rebreather...my god. Hopefully I'd have enough warning to bailout and puke instead of into the loop. Ugh.
I knew it was coming. Prepped my O2 cylinder and finished out OC with the occasional cloud of puke billowing around me.
