I see DGE now has them in stock, http://www.divegearexpress.com/computers/NiTekQ.shtml
I've been thinking about picking one up, but been holding off.

I will be surprised to hear DGE has them instock. We have had a few on order and do not have a solid timeframe for their delivery.
i have had mine on order for about the same time period. i called DR on tuesday. they said they had just received the first order of the new year and had not un-boxed it yet. no word recently. i have connections with a DR dealer and am seriously thinking about biting the bullet and buying a predator. these things have proven incredibly hard to get, even through divegearexpress.com
All I can say is I really like mine....
Just ordered one yesterday from DGE and it shipped today. Mind you, I ordered the fully loaded model.
I have had mine on order since October as well. My LDS just called today and said that DR shipped it today!! The last three months have felt like an eternity, but it was worth the wait.
I received my Nitek Q in November from Dive Rite as a replacement to my Nitek X that had a sensor issue (they replaced it free of charge I might add). DR told me they only get in small shipments at a time from their supplier so they go quick. I only have three dives on it so far but am impressed. The set up will be familiar to anyone who's used the HE or X computer previously. Screen brightness is adjustable but cranking it up will drain the battery quicker. I don't have the compass feature installed and am curious if anyone has used this feature yet. Not quite as slick as the Predator but overall a solid computer (and cheaper).
I got one in early October (after waiting some weeks for one to become available) and was very happy with it, except that I couldn't get the compass to calibrate (yes, I had ordered that option), or the software for log download to run on my PC. I sent it back to Diverite early December. They have been unable to get the compass to calibrate either and have shipped me a new one today. They apparently decided mine wasn't going to work and to give me a new one. They have been waiting about 4 weeks for them to arrive. Everything else about the unit is fine. All this is exacerbated by the 2-3 week time frame on postage each way.
I still can't get the software on the download to work but will wait until the new unit arrives to sort that out. Has anyone else with the log download option had the same trouble?
My understanding is this where the bulk of the initial shipments went. Combined with the tsunami damage in Japan to IC fabrication facilities could explain the apparent slow rollout of this product. Just offering up the explanations that were passed to me.
According to folks at DR there were some problems encountered with the installers for both the Mac and the Windows versions of the workbench s/w. These are expected to be re-released "in the near future" and made available for download from the DR website. You will be automatically notified if you go to the DR website and register your Q there.
Thanks for that info. They didn't tell me that. They didn't communicate very well at all about any of our problems actually. They only responded to my initial emails after Dive Gear Express got onto them, and then we'd get no feedback on progress with the unit (once they told us to send it back) unless we'd send a querying email. We didn't get any answer to the question about downloading the workbench. They have done the right thing by us practically though and I suspect the service guy is snowed under with work and doesn't have time for non urgent emails.
