Mark 20/Clear G-250. (As if there's anything else?)
I have recently switched to a HOG D1 Cold. As a matter of fact I am switching to these for everything. They are inexpensive, not too bad to service, and service kits are both inexpensive and readily available. I don't need the cold part in a cave, but I am standardizing all of my regs. The regs come from the factory clean so you can use them on O2 right away, if you trust the Chinese laborer who put them together, or you can clean them yourself with the right tools and some time.
I took the class at Dive Right In so I am not even breaking the rules when I service them for myself. Without a friendly connection to a shop it is difficult, but NOT impossible, to get the training for other brands.

i use two setups, cant really tell you why and when i use either one, just have them laying around:
set one is a cheap unbalanced piston regulator similar to an OMS workhorse. good thing about this is it always works and i would not hesitate to take that thing apart on the parking lot or even under water. second one is a zeagle membrane reg, i believe a copy of an apeks which breaths easily. My thinking is I don't ask for much on my O2 reg as long as it works, for my normal regs and backups I go with top of the line membrane regs that never failed on me.
Probably depends on how long of a deco you are planning so it might be worth it to use a top of the line reg as well. I'm a firm believer of the Apeks atx 100 or 50/40, they are top regs and easily serviceable due to a very good design. Just my two cents.
the cheapest thing Oceanic makes.... been working for more than a decade, don't seen any reason to change.
Sherwood Brute and a Scubapro Mk2 with an old Sherwood octy.
A Cyklon 300, since I have about a dozen of them. I save my Xstreams for my primary regs. You don't need much performance on an O2 reg, just needs to be O2 clean.
I couldn't disagree more. Why would you want to spend an hour breathing a high-performance regulator, then spend 30 minutes on a piece of garbage?
I hate deco enough now - I can't imagine compounding it by having to breathe off an unbalanced regulator.
Disclaimer: Some people don't care about, or can't tell, the difference between a good regulator and a bad one. An analogy I've used before is sound systems. To some, there is no difference between a $10,000 high fidelity system and a clock radio. Likewise, some can't tell the difference between a G-250 and a Brut. If you fall into this category, consider yourself lucky - you just saved several hundred dollars.
Mine is a SP Mk 2+ & R190 with the SP oxygen service kit. Simple and works well.

Poor me, All my cave regs are DR 1208/2015. Kinda like Russell said, some can't tell the difference. It had been a long time since I dove anything but the DR's. Met some friends in SoFL today and went out from WPB. and dove my salt water gear which includes my Atomics :smt086 Pretty noticeable difference.
However, thus far my DR's have proven themselves to be reliable, simple to service and easy to get parts for. Since I am not presently affiliated with any dealers, it is unlikely that I am going to change the stable of cave regs any time soon. :smt102
I agree with Russell - you spend way too much time on deco regs to want to tolerate a low performance reg. I use MK 9 or MK 10 first stages to maintain common regs for stage or deco use, but all of them have G250 or G250V second stages on them.
Apeks DS4/TX40.
I am pretty well standardized - all of my regs are DS4/TX40's or DST/TX50's.
Oceanic Alpha.
Dive Rite
A bit of a hijack, sorry! Forrest, I also have a bunch of old Poseidon regs. Several 2960 series which I do not use for enritched mixes as the diaphrams are made from old tires. Love them, well over twenty years of good service, but not for O2. I also have several of the 3950 first stages. Fine for O2, I hope.
Jetstream or Cyclon seconds. So what am I missing? Other than bronze filters, the lack of which could kill the project, I have thought them reliable, and reasonable performers.
The Apex first stage on my ccr has the delightful atribute of increasing the IP as the depth increases. Class act?
It looks like I require another O2 compatible reg soon. Scuba pro are great, but after almost 30 years of fixing my own, not keen on the protection racket. I have one green Poseidon extreame. Expensive and I am worried about putting more money into a company that seems to hate North America.
So just what is an old man to do?

I have the Dacor "super top of the line overbuilt" reg they made years ago, can't remember the name of it. It has 2 swivels and the ends swivel, for no real reason I see.
I use it because 1, it cost me $75 and 2, it weighs a ton and keeps the deco bottle on bottom. After 8 years it has proved to be bullet proof, and economical.
Dräger, made in Germany...
I'm having this same internal debate. Almost all of my regs are DR, and all BG and deco/stage/sm regs interchange. Most of those RG3000, a pair 3100s and one set 3500 Hurricanes. The 3000/3100 series breath well enough but have proven absolutely bullet proof and like a Timex. 3500s breathe great, but tend to creep with use.
That said I used my Zeagle flathead VI last week and I really appreciated it when doing deco in ripping river current.
I'm considering switching over everything to Atomic, Apex, or Zeagle (new job, brands we carry, gear @cost).
I use a 1976 U.S. Divers Calypso IV rebuilt with Viton O rings on the yolk tank , or a Dive Rite with the DIN tank.
Sherwood Brut (older oval body). Simple and reliable.
I have 6 HOG D1 cold's. I have two set up as my sidemount regs but the other 4 just kind of rotate between different stage bottles and deco bottles all with the same 6" hp hose and 36" reg hose.
Mk10/g250's can be had affordably and make good deco/stage regs once you rebuild and *degrease* them.
I have 4 HOG D1 Colds.
1 Set for doubles (back or sidemount), 1 dedicated to O2 use and 1 that alternates between 50% deco botttle and singles rig use.
Very happy with them so far
